MOSAIC Catering + Events is an award-winning event service company with operations in Richmond, VA and Charleston, SC. We are a full-service, one-stop shop for your event, catering, design, rentals, and lighting needs.

MOSAIC is currently recruiting for a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager at our Charleston, SC location. This is a full-time position. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to complete necessary paperwork, create schedules for hourly culinary staff, train their own culinary team, and able to thoroughly and regularly communicate with coworkers and out of state MOSAIC Leadership. The chef is also responsible for producing high-quality MOSAIC menu items.

Key Duties:
 ✦  Preps food for all catering events
 ✦  Properly stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures
 ✦  Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner; resolves customer concern
 ✦  Interacts with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards
 ✦  Oversee and manage all cooks and back of house staff
 ✦  Conduct back of house staff reviews annually, semi-annually, and as needed
 ✦  Create back of house staff schedule
 ✦  Help create and maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment
 ✦  Conduct daily and weekly food orders
 ✦  Oversee food production in the kitchen and on event site
 ✦  Maintain MOSAIC's standards of high quality
 ✦  Turning in regular paperwork, including P/L reports
 ✦  Assist in the execution of offsite events that require support
 ✦  Meet with primary and prospective purveyors monthly to discuss item cost
 ✦  Develop budgetary guidelines and restrictions
 ✦  Ensure proper inventory is ordered bi-monthly
 ✦  Track all kitchen equipment maintenance
 ✦  Assist fellow team members grow the business and MOSAIC brand; this at times may include traveling to MOSAIC's other locations or out of city events.

Minimum Requirements:
 ✦  1+ years of culinary management experience with a focus on administrative details
 ✦  ServSafe Certified
 ✦  Weekend Availability

Preferred Qualifications:
 ✦  3+ years of culinary management experience with a focus on offsite catering
 ✦  Previous experience with controlling food & labor cost, menu development and pricing, and development of culinary team
 ✦  Culinary Degree
 ✦  ACF Certified
