MOSAIC Catering + Events is an award-winning event service company with operations in Richmond, VA and Charleston, SC. We are a full-service, one-stop shop for your event, catering, design, rentals, and lighting needs. 

MOSAIC is currently seeking additional friendly and outgoing team members with an excellent work ethic! This is an on-call hourly position for special event Field Staff and schedules are given to team members based on provided availability, making it ideal for supplemental income. Optional training is provided, and growth is encouraged. We aim to recognize and reward positive attitudes and high-performance levels within our team. 

This position reports to the Staffing Coordinator. Schedules are established via email, and associates can apply for shifts based on when they would like to work and for how long. Special event Field Staff are able to fill a variety of roles, depending on the event. Commonly this position is either filling a service role, but we also offer other event support roles such as chef assistant and utility assistance. The possibility to work with a variety of team members, venues, event types, and roles results in an exciting and refreshing employment opportunity.

Major Duties:
  • Assist the Catering Team in special event setup and breakdown
  • Opens and serves alcoholic beverages as requested
  • Maintaining a clean and attractive environment
  • Performing functions based on the role assigned per shift
  • Promptly removes used glassware, plates, utensils, etc
  • Effectively communicates with other team members
  • Handle all guest requests promptly
  • Upholding MOSAIC service standards
  • Provides a memorable guest experience 
  • Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
  • Proper handling and care of rental inventory
  • Serving food promptly and safely
  • Retaining information given on event site and sharing information with guests
  • Filling unexpected roles as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to provide reliable transportation to and from event site
  • Ability to communicate routinely via text message and e-mail
  • Willingness to work later than scheduled as needed
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to be on your feet for an extended amount of time

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Night and weekend availability
  • Flexible schedule
  • Previous experience in banquet service or waiting/waitressing
  • Previous experience in food service
